Red Cross Babysitting Course

Red Cross Babysitting Course:

The American Red Cross Babysitting Certification Course with Wild Maine Med is a dynamic, hands-on training designed to prepare young caregivers to provide confident, capable, and compassionate care. This course takes a comprehensive– whole-child, whole-caregiver– approach, exploring what it truly means to be a trusted babysitter. From building strong relationships with parents to understanding developmental stages and creating age-appropriate activities, participants will leave ready to step into any home with maturity and enthusiasm. Because the best babysitters are also prepared for the unexpected, this course includes practical, hands-on first aid and emergency response training tailored to the real situations young caregivers may face. Through interactive scenarios, skill-building stations, and realistic problem-solving challenges, participants practice navigating the everyday realities of babysitting–from bedtime routines and sibling dynamics to unexpected curveballs. Participants will leave not only certified but fully prepared, confident, and capable of providing thoughtful, competent, and reliable care.

Four Seasons: Junior First Aid

Four Seasons Junior First Aid is seasonally-based First Aid program designed to prepare kids to safely explore and enjoy Maine year-round. Rooted in the rhythms of the natural world, each session focuses on the unique risks and realities of the current season– whether it’s water safety, sun exposure, and dehydration in the summer, or cold injuries, ice safety, and emergency preparedness in the winter. Through hands-on scenarios, games, and interactive skill-building, participants not only learn how to recognize and respond to season-specific challenges, but also reinforce core first aid principles like patient assessment, decision-making, and emergency response. This dynamic program builds confidence, resilience and responsibility– helping kids develop the awareness and skills they need to anticipate risks, make smart choices, and take action when it matters most.
