Philanthropy sustains and energizes the Roots Experience

Roots Academy has undergone incredible growth and transformation in a very short time. From answering a call with six children and one teacher in 2020 to a robust school community with three multi-grade classrooms bustling with experiential learning and enriching curriculum. Gifts to Roots allow us to stay true to our mission and continue to grow; both as a community and with the age of our learners (our middle school is already developing a reputation for being both exceptional and accessible).

Like most small. independent schools, Roots counts on support to provide an exceptional education experience for every student. We continue to live our mission and transform lives because of the generosity of our families, local organizations and our community. Our small class sizes, focus on place-based learning, and connection to self and community that Roots apart from are made possible through the support of our community.

 

    • $100 → A chair in our Community Nook

    • $250 → A shelf in the Knowledge Commons

    • $500 →A cozy corner in our Atelier – creating warmth and comfort for learners to gather.

    • $1,000 → A collaborative table in the Atelier

    • $2,500 → A whiteboard or flexible workspace element

    • $5,000 → Lounge seating in the Knowledge Commons

    • $10,000 → Floor-to-ceiling bookshelves in the Knowledge Commons

    • $15,000 → Complete finish work in the Atelier

    • $25,000 → A major building block toward the interior stairwell connection

    • $50,000 → Fund the entire stairwell project — and leave a lasting legacy of unity and sustainability

    Build an interior stairwell to unite our main level with the administrative offices and Middle School atelier — improving safety, accessibility, and connection.

  • Develop our Learning and Community Spaces

    Outfit our shared spaces and Middle School Atelier with collaborative furniture, bookshelves, carpeting, and fresh finishes to create a dynamic space where learners can think big and work together.

  • establish Long Term Sustainability of our school and our Mission

    We will continue to evolve our spaces to house accessible, evidence-based support services that align with our philosophy of education and whole-child care including Occupational Therapy (OT) rooted in Polyvagal Theory and nervous system regulation, Mindfulness and Therapy services for emotional wellbeing, Speech Therapy to support communication and confidence and Evidence-based Literacy support grounded in research and best practices.
