  3. Banana Bread- A tradition near and dear 💛

    Recipe + instructions HERE!

Banana bread holds a special place in my heart this time of year. My mom growing up would make a few loaves of banana bread a week or two before Christmas and stick them in the freezer. After what I'm sure was a lonnng morning of opening presents Christmas morning, my mom would pull out a loaf (she had removed them from the freezer a day or two prior) and we would all have a slice warmed with a little butter. Her and my dad would pour what I'm certain was their 3rd maybe 4th cup of coffee and we would all revel in the magic of the holidays. I now look back and appreciate the tradition, and am thankful my mom had found a way to make her Christmas morning a little easier and special for all of us. I’m hoping this recipe will bring you and your family a little love, ease, and maybe tradition for the holidays.

It allows for some autonomy with the mix-in’s- get the creativity flowing and I’m sure your Reindeer Chow will be bursting with holiday magic! I’m getting flashes of Buddy the Elf with his pile of Spaghetti..a dash of sprinkles, crushed sugar cookies, and maybe a candy cane or two. 5. Leftover Turkey/ Tofurky & Veggie Soup

    Recipe + instructions HERE!

It may just be me- but do you know what’s better than a Thanksgiving turkey? Leftover Thanksgiving turkey. We LOVE a good repurposed meal and not allowing food to go to waste!  In a world of fast food and convenience, it’s easy to forget the leftovers. This is such a valuable thing to work through with your littles! Whether it’s tasty leftover turkey sandwiches (paired with a little mayo + celery salt) or a delicious tummy warming soup- we love to see the leftovers being used! Nobody likes the suspicious science experiment shoved in the back of the fridge. :)
