Two, 3 Week Long Project Based Learning Sessions
Ages: 8 to 12yo
The Curiosity Catalyst is a three-week project-based learning (PBL) summer camp at Roots Academy designed for curious minds ages 8 to 12. This immersive program ignites creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration as campers tackle real-world challenges through hands-on projects.
Each session, participants dive into a new theme rooted in science, art, or community, guided by mentors and fueled by their own questions and interests. Campers will explore their ideas using tools like design thinking, experimentation, and storytelling, transforming their discoveries into meaningful creations.
From building prototypes and solving local environmental problems to crafting presentations and using their voices to advocate for change, The Curiosity Catalyst sparks a passion for learning and empowers children to see themselves as innovators, creators, and change-makers.
Daily activities include outdoor exploration, group discussions, independent and collaborative work time, and plenty of opportunities to have fun while learning. By the end of the program, campers will have not only developed new skills but also created projects that reflect their unique perspectives and ideas.
